Hong Kong Here We Come

January 24th, 2010

I love Hong Kong! I’ve been there twice. One with my mom, my sister and our relatives from Chicago last 2004 and then I came back with my Husband the next year to have our honeymoon. On Wednesday, we will be coming back with our son and the rest of my family, minus my sister who now lives in Canada. And I bet we will have a grand time just like our previous trips. With my notebook and HK map, I hope I will be an accurate tour guide so the whole family will get to see The Peak and we plan on watching this on our first day…

Light Show at 8PM

and I will definitely do a lot of this for my husband…

Of course the trip will not be complete without going here…

I can see my son’s face when he sees Buzz and Woody! As for me? I plan to do a lot of this…

I love Hong Kong food. I wish to eat a lot of dimsum, noodles and my favorite roasted Duck! Yum!

Loving Yourself

January 22nd, 2010

A friend once told me that getting a term life insurance is saying that you love yourself simply because you want to make you are secured. I don’t oppose that, she has a point. I also believe that you should take care of yourself even if you are taking care of your family. You have to see to it that you are doing great from the outside to the inside. Which is why I had my OB check up last Monday. Anyway, of course, your skin is something you see everyday and it needs nourishment and Body Shop has a promo for the body butter lovers like me…

Very Tightly

January 19th, 2010

Who says tights are just for ballet dancers? Nowadays tights can be worn everywhere and with anything. Some ladies even have them in colors but I love the classic black opaque or not, basic black just goes with everything…

Pretty nice huh?

Mattress Covers

January 19th, 2010

My son enjoys playing his cars on our bed, the problem is that he wants our comforter removed and just wants to play purely on our mattress which I disapproved. It’s been years since we bought the mattress and I know there are a lot of allergens in that mattress and I don’t want Lil Dee catching anything from it. But toddlers are sometimes naughty and when I take my sight away from him, he lifts the covers right away. I want an allergy mattress covers that can take away allergens and won’t be easily removed from the mattress and I saw one online…

They are water resistant and protect the mattress from molds and dust mites. Really nice huh?

Almost Summer

January 18th, 2010

It’s almost Summer and I really need to get some fat burner advice from slim friends so that I can wear skimpy Summer clothes if ever we plan a vacation at the beach. People are looking for possible vacation spots this March and as a matter of fact, I’m thinking of celebrating my birthday in a resort with my family. I hope I can save enough since March is also my son’s birthday. I swear cute swimwear like this from Gap is what I hope I can wear…

But I don’t think I have the guts to wear that bikini, so I would want a boyshort bottom to match the top. :D

Will water hydrate dry skin?

January 17th, 2010

I have many problems on my skin, particularly on my face, thank God I don’t have problems like scabies or pimples on scalp which I know has solutions anyway but mine is a lot more permanent since they are pimple scars, I just wish somehow my skin gets a little dryer from it’s very oily type so that I can get rid of the acnes that still show up once in awhile even at this age. A friend’s problem is dry skin, a very opposite skin type from mine and she told me, water gives her hope that maybe it’ll hydrate her skin enough then asked me if it will truly hydrate her skin!?! Honestly? I have no idea since dry skin is not my problem but to help her, I browsed online, as usual and found this article…

If you imagine 8 glasses a day go straight to your skin, read on.
by Elizabeth Graves

There are many good reasons to drink water: It’s refreshing, and it helps your brain function, maintains energy levels, regulates body temperature, aids in digestion, and ultimately keeps your body healthy. (You couldn’t survive more than a few days without a sip.)

But “humans aren’t like plants. Our skin doesn’t perk up when we consume water,” says Katie Rodan, a dermatologist in the San Francisco Bay area and a coauthor of Write Your Skin a Prescription for Change. In fact, when you ingest it, “water doesn’t go straight to the skin,” she says. “It goes through the intestines, gets absorbed into your bloodstream, and is filtered by kidneys. Then it hydrates cells.” When it comes to moisturizing skin, drinking water falls short.

Some Fall Collection

January 15th, 2010

We are going to Hong Kong this last week of January and as I was looking at the weather forecast this week, I think we will be experiencing the almost Spring weather there. Right now, I can see that their warmest this week will be 17 degrees Celsius which is not so cold right? It’s a little colder than a 19 degrees Celsius air conditioned room which is nice. Though the girls in the photos are skinny and I think I will be needing ephedra diet pills to achieve that kind of body, I think the clothes can be pulled out from my closet to achieve similar look…

Do you think every outfit can tolerate the 17 degrees weather? I don’t think so. :D

Still Trying

January 14th, 2010

As much as I want to lose more weight, I actually just aim to be healthier. It’s less stressful to aim that than aiming to slim down and weigh myself religiously. I don’t weigh myself often anymore. There’s not much improvement anyway. HAHA. Anyway, a friend takes the best weight loss pills I think is around. She lost a good number and I am kinda convinced that she really made a nice decision but still, I’m a bit scared to take that so to be healthier instead of slimmer, I still run. Still 2x a week. I will be running today with my husband, I hope this will be a routine now that his work is more relax. My diet includes only a bowl of oatmeal in the morning, lunch in moderation and light dinner at night. I am trying to avoid meat, I still eat beef and pork but I try to choose chicken or fish over them. I still have my dose of frapps once in a while but order without the whip. Still trying and thriving to be a health buff this 2010. :D

Coach Wishlist

January 14th, 2010

I was never a bag-aholic. I can just buy a 300 Php bag and I can survive with that bag for a year. I am more of a watch girl before, though I never collected expensive watches. I grew up with new (a bit expensive) pair of shoes and new up to date clothes only during my birthdays and Holidays. I had to wait for my 3rd year high school Christmas party celebration in our school just to get my new Doc Martens. I remember using my new Tretorn for the first time when I was in college while some of my childhood friends’ Trets are almost worn out, mine was still spanking new. HAHA. Talk about late bloomer. I never had a Pop Swatch, one that Mikee Conjuanco modeled. Too much intro huh? But I guess, this explains why I love buying branded and quality stuff lately, not to mention friends from the US gave us more chance to have one. An online friend once told me, I guess this is the age that we give ourselves a pat on the back, that since we can “afford” it somehow, we satisfy our girly cravings once in a while. She’s right (talagang naghanap kami ng reason di ba?). Just always keep in mind that saving is still the first priority. No family matter will be sacrificed just because of these material things. Disclaimer: This wishlist is just a wishlist. I don’t intend to complete the collection. I still think that collecting too many expensive bags is too much especially, I’m not a millionaire. 2-4 of these will be lucky already…

Aldo Earrings

January 5th, 2010

I know I should be looking for stainless steel drums that we need at home which my mom is asking me to look for, I think she will be using it at the back of the house, in the garden and some for storage purposes but I saw these stainless babies instead…

This is from their site:

These are the hoop earrings you already love, except they are larger, trendier and more spectacular. Encrusted with clear rhinestones. A must for both your everyday and after-dark looks.

So I have no idea, if these are stainless steel or silver. I hope it won’t go black on me in time. I really love these earrings when I saw it in an Aldo store in High Street but I find then very expensive, since I get to save 500 bucks by buying it with the help of a friend, I bought them with my other loots from B&BW (will I post as well). I’m sort of proud of myself that I didn’t get to purchase any shoes, Aldo is having 70% sale right now but I only bought these earrings. Big step for me considering there are so many nice shoes on sale.
