The Risk in Actos

Posted by Deelytz

We have Diabetes in our genes and I have a grandmother who died from it and an uncle who is treating his disease with medicines but good thing he knows about cancer from actos which is why he is very conscious of the maintenance he takes for his ailment. He usually asks his sons to research about the medications first before taking it, he once heard about actos and remembered it but a lot of diabetic patients are unaware of this medication and the risk of having bladder cancer because of it. Many patients seek the help of dangerous drug lawyers to claim from pharmaceutical companies. Let’s be reminded to know more of what we take and don’t rely on the ones we read from the boxes.

Menopause and Hot Flashes

Posted by Deelytz

One of the popular symptoms of Menopause are Hot Flashes. My mom went through menopause without it, lucky her but a lot of her friends did and they said it wasn’t that easy. First, what is Menopause?

Menopause is the natural end to menstruation for women. Most women experience this around the age of 50. However, some women can experience menopause as early as 40 years old or as late as 60 years old.

So what is a hot flash?

A hot flash is a feeling of warmth that spreads over the body that begins, and is most strongly felt, in the head and neck regions but some women experience this in their whole body but that rarely happens and not all women who experience menopausal transition experience hot flashes.

Many of us don’t know that there are supplements that can help us regain our balance during hormonal changes and even women who are experiencing menopausal transition can get help from Healthy Choice Naturals that offers natural transitions menopause supplement. They even have supplements to help you how to quit smoking or how to lower cholesterol. Many people turn to natural supplements, it is a healthy way to prevent diseases so as as early as today, my husband and I are already taking natural supplements, so far we are on garlic and omega 3 supplements.

Post-Cleansing Day

Posted by Deelytz

All in all, I had light meals, just veggies and fish, if I can remember that right. I lost a pound and 1/2 inch to my waist and though I don’t feel any different, just the feeling of being cleansed, people said I had that tint of glow, I guess healthy diets, are known to give you that. Here is my after diet photo…

My eyebags obviously shrink a little, maybe fluid intake is indeed the solution to my genetically HUGE eyebags.

Will I ever do the JUJU Juice Cleanse again?

Most definitely! Next year, I am planning to do it in Holy Week.

The BIG JUJU Day

Posted by Deelytz

Sorry for the delay of posts, while the husband is busy with his auto wheels and bumper thingies, I am busy as a mom during our 4-day weekend so I have less access online, just using the iphone once in a while to keep me updated. Anyway, enough with the intro.

For fresh start, JUJU Juice advised to drink warm tea, Ms. Kat included a pack of mint leaves to add in your tea so I had lemon tea with mint leaves…

IMG_2877

After which, I went with my usual Saturday morning, feeding my son his breakfast while I put the 1st bottle of JUJU in front of me, psyching myself that I can gulp in that green stuff and so I did…

IMG_2881

Green Bomb. I love celery and definitely, this has celery in it, and there is that distinct powdery taste that I cannot really describe. This can be very hard to drink especially to people who hate veggies, but luckily, I love veggies so, even if this is not that awesome, it is very doable for me.

So you have to wait for 2 1/2 hrs. to drink the next bottle, at around 9:30, I got really hungry and I was feeling a bit dizzy, I dunno if this is psychological since I am used to skipping my breakfast but just to be sure that I can last the whole day, I ate a banana and 2 of these…

IMG_2886

And then at 10am, I drank the 2nd bottle…

IMG_2892

Spicy Limonada. A favorite of mine, I plan on making this as a substitute to my usual lemonade drink. It gave a kick with that cayenne pepper and I love how it made me feel very full.

In between, I am drinking water to help me feel fuller, so this also means, frequent trips to the loo.

VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE: Never go out while you’re on with the diet.

At around 12:30pm we left home to meet somebody at 2pm around South area so I just brought the juices that I needed for the day and put it in the JUJU bag with their ice pack and put more ice in a ziplock to make it cooler.

IMG_2864

Red Giant. We were in the car and were in a hurry to get out that I wasn’t able to savor the taste, but I like the taste of this one. Not really my fave, but can definitely grow on me, if only I had time to drink it real slow.

Still no hunger pangs. Still not getting dizzy and no headaches. But I brought bananas just in case.

IMG_2866

Alkazest. I drank this earlier because we had to go down again to our next stop and I don’t want to carry it in the mall. I love the taste of this one, my 3rd fave actually. I was a bit scared because I know this has coconut water and pineapple, just like the Green Bomb and I might need to do Number 2 in a public bathroom, but I am so happy that I didn’t need to.

The bad part is that, we were in the mall really late and I had to take the 5th bottle at 6pm and I was getting really hungry so when my boys decided to have dinner at Conti’s, I had to order this…

IMG_2901

My cheat. It has chicken and dressing. Oh my!

Then at around 8pm, I drank the 5th bottle which is the Green Bomb again, it was easier to gulp that time maybe because I kinda got used to its taste.

I was supposed to drink the last bottle at 8:30pm but I had to adjust the time and drank it at 10:30pm and this is my 2nd fave among the 5 drinks…

IMG_2872

Salaba’t Lemon. I always love the ginger tea I drink at The Spa (their usual ginger tea there), so this is a treat for me. I took it cold but I felt the heat in my tummy after drinking my first sip and I had a nice sleep after.

To all of you who wants to know if I had frequent trips to the loo to do Number 2, well, it all happened the next day, I did it 3 times, one in the morning, the other was after lunch and then the last one was in the evening. I felt really cleansed.

Pre-Cleanse Day

Posted by Deelytz

While I know for a fact that I will never fit into a school girl outfit because unlike before that I am very slim and slender, I am a mom now and no matter what I do, I will always have that post pregnancy figure that all mothers will understand. But as much as I would love to be 100 pounds again, losing a few more from my current weight is enough plus I am aiming for the detoxification part of this cleansing, not the losing weight part because a 1 day cleanse will not lose too much number.

As instructed by JUJU Cleanse in preparation for the cleansing day itself, I will have to observe the following:

Reduce your intake of the following to prepare your body:

  1. Animal protein and processed foods
  2. Salt, refined sugar and carbs
  3. Carbonated sodas, and other caffeinated drinks
  4. Alcohol and nicotine

Recommend that you increase your intake of:

  1. Water or herbal teas
  2. Fruit and vegetables
  3. Sleep

Anyway, here is my post about it:

Pre Cleanse Weight (Gym Scale)

That’s 112 lbs on the gym scale last Thursday

August 12, 2011:

Breakfast I only had these:

Pre Cleanse: Breakfast

a cup of coffee with whole wheat bread with spreads of Filippo Berio’s Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and Tomato and Ricotta Pesto

For lunch:

Pre Cleanse: Lunch

little rice, pansit, 1 small cut of chicken adobo and pinakbet then I had water (a close military personnel celebrated his retirement from the service and had free lunch for the whole hospital staff)

Just before dinner, I had a soothing massage:

IMG_2855

That’s with my son, posing while I was having my home service massage.

My dinner:

IMG_2856

That’s grilled fish, brown rice with tomatoes and onions (raw) and a bowl or mushroom soup with veggies.

And as for my sleep, this one I think I failed. I watched movie with my husband until about midnight and I woke up early.

My JUJU Cleanse Challenge to Myself

Posted by Deelytz

I have been reading and thinking about this for weeks. I read tons of bloggers posting about it and I got to be sure that this is really safe before putting myself into it. My right pinky finger helped me decide faster and I’ve decided that doing it for a day wouldn’t hurt.

At first, I was considering of doing it for 3 days but then my husband suggested that I do it 1 day first and if my body responds to it really nicely then maybe I can plan better next year. So here is my plan, if this thing is really nice just like what I read from the all feedback, then by next year, I will do it twice a year. One after Christmas, to cleanse my body from all the binge eating and the other is in June just to prepare myself to all the binging again that can happen from celebrations like my husband’s birthday and the Holidays.

So let me tell you a little bit about the JUJU Cleanse:

So today is my Pre-Clanse Day and how do I prepare for tomorrow?

At least one day before beginning your cleanse, we suggest you reduce your intake of the following to prepare your body:

1. Animal protein and processed foods
2. Salt, refined sugar and carbs
3. Carbonated sodas, and other caffeinated drinks
4. Alcohol and nicotine

We then recommend that you increase your intake of:

1. Water or herbal teas
2. Fruit and vegetables
3. Sleep

Which Cleanse is right for me?

The JUJU Cleanse has 3 Levels. I was thinking of doing Level 2 for Day 1 and Level 3 for Day 2 but I changed my mind and settled for Level 1. I got really scared of going to the loo several times and end up being too woozy so I think for starters, I will be on Level 1.

apprentice

Level One:

Designed to ease you into the program gently, this cleanse does its best not to overwhelm you with too much green veggie goodness, while still providing you potent juices packed with tremendous enzyme power.

If you have had one too many drinks (again), have been packing on the pounds, or are generally feeling over-worked and fatigued – then this cleanse is the “picker-upper” that you need to jump-start yourself back into a healthier routine.

My Level One JUJU Cleanse will be delivered this afternoon. I will update you of this experience soon.

Talk from A Friend

Posted by Deelytz

I have a friend who works in an insurance company and he has been encouraging me to get insurance from him. As much as I want to do that, additional expenses these days are impossible. A couple of my friends have been talking about insurances as well and even if I want to butt in and talked about it, I have nothing to say because we are not insured and we really on health benefits we get from the government which is not much considering we still go to private hospitals when needed. I guess this is something we have to consider when we are done with all these important expenses, even for just our annual lab tests, I want us to have insurance so we won’t worry about our routine check up every year.

Laser Lipo: Solution to Lose Weight

Posted by Deelytz

Some people want to lose weight because of aesthetic purposes but for some who’s health is at stake, losing weight has a deeper purpose. I have been trying to lose weight simply because I am not getting any younger and when you gain so much excess fat in the body, there is a higher risk of certain diseases like Hypertension and Diabetes which both run in my genes. I love food and watching what I eat is a complete challenge for me but I am learning to control myself because of all the aches and pains I am feeling in my body and somehow it scares me to neglect my health. I’ve been eating more vegetables, fruits and trying to avoid certain protein, instead just take the ideal protein that my body needs. I also started eating brown rice instead of white, choosing whole wheat products, non-fat dairy etc. I cheat once in a while but I think since March 2011, there is nothing I take in my body that one of the weight loss doctors wouldn’t approve. But what if you need to lose 100+ pounds instead of the 10 pounds that I need to lose? Wouldn’t it be right to rely on professional help? I have heard of laser lipo and it’s non-invasive procedure is the solution for safer weight loss.

Ideal Wellness and Weight Loss has procedures like the non-invasive laser lipo that safely pricks the patient’s skin at a specific wavelength to target the adipose fat cells. It is a revolutionary procedure that is also done for laser body sculpting to target small areas like the double chins, it also helps eliminate those love handles and saddlebags.

Every person has the right to look good and feel good and most importantly to be healthy. If you can’t do it on your own and health is at risk, I don’t see anything wrong in seeking for help because as we all believe, Health is Wealth.

More Supplemets for Me.

Posted by Deelytz

A friend of mine is asking for help regarding finding hgh pills for her, I have no idea what they are but I think she mentioned supplements. Talking about supplements, I added new set of supplements for myself. I have been feeling body pains lately and I wanted to strengthen my bones. I’ve been feeling pains directly on my knees and limbs, even my fingers particularly in my fingertips and as far as I can remember, I did a testing when I was still single, recently engaged and their bone scanning diagnosis is Osteopenia. so I thought maybe I have calcium deficiency already so I want to be sure and has been drinking high calcium milk for my age and then I am taking calcium supplement once a day and also the OsteoFlex which is a herbal supplement to avoid Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. I am hoping these will work, I will be taking it for a month and see how it goes from there. I started this week and I still have 3 weeks to observe and then I returned to the gym every Tuesdays and Thursdays, last Tuesday was the start. I hope I won’t be too lazy to go today! :D

Weight Update

Posted by Deelytz

I was considering slimvox early this year because I think my weight is affecting my health, the heaviest I’ve been to during younger years was 105 lbs. and I was even lighter when I was pregnant, weighing 118 lbs. during my 3rd trimester. The heaviest I got after pregnancy was 128 lbs. and I always felt nauseated, I knew I had to do something. I got really into to dieting starting March 5 of this year and even tried fruit diet for 3 days, I didn’t feel good after that so I tried eating correctly and on the right times within the day and I think I am doing okay except to some neck pain and back pain which I think results to being on the computer 8 hours a day without resting. I know that it is a very unhealthy lifestyle and I vow to change. Anyway, I am back to being 114.5 lbs from being 112 after my fruit diet. Wish me luck!
